Brooke Schafer

Born and raised in the Bluegrass, Brooke has been riding and showing a multitude of breeds and disciplines since she was old enough to post the trot. Brooke currently works full time as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the public school system specializing in severe communication disabilities but also moonlights professionally in the horse business – teaching and riding sport horses in Lexington, KY. Brooke’s main equine partner, Kulik Lodge, was adopted from New Vocations Racehorse Adoption in 2016. Since then, he has made quite the presence representing Thoroughbred aftercare. Brooke has been both a competitor and official for the Retired Racehorse Project’s Thoroughbred Makeover and currently has two adopted Thoroughbreds from New Vocations. She has also trained and placed several other OTTBs over the past ten years. Brooke enjoys helping OTTBs and their owners find success in new careers after the track and is a strong supporter of all aftercare programs.
