Layne Brogden

Layne Frances Brogden was born in 2007 to her Thoroughbred loving parents, Carrie and Craig Brogden. Her Dad immigrated from Australia to the US in 1999, and with her Mom they built their Thoroughbred nursery, Machmer Hall, which makes up 530 acres in Bourbon County. Layne was riding before she could walk as was the case with her older brother, Reece and her older sister, Isabelle, but Layne was the only one that the horse bug bit. Layne has been riding and showing her entire life which started with her first pony, Dottie, and carried onto her life with her longtime large pony, Rugby, who she just recently outgrew.  Layne loves all kinds of horses and will ride any chance she gets. She has attended a multitude of foalings at her parents barn along with being lucky enough to “pinhook” her first weanling to yearling sales baby this year. She spends the summers riding on her Aunt’s show hunter/consignment farm in Virginia and her winters at Emil Spadone’s Ocala nursery showing every winter.    Layne’s number one passion in life is horses and other than her loyal pound puppy, Tipton, there is not much else that she would want to do with her time.
