From the moment Quaint turned his first cow down the fence, South Dakota rancher Dale Simanton knew he had a real cow-horse on his hands. The 2012 gelding by Street Sense became equally handy in the roping pen, making himself indispensible during branding season. Featured in several publications, Quaint garnered attention with his unbridled roping demonstrations and exploits as part of Simanton’s Gate to Great ranch rodeo team. Quaint raced under conditioner H. Graham Motion before joining Simanton’s remuda and is currently serving as a pleasure mount for a west coast family.

Joanne Y. Pierce
Since she was a small child, Joanne has ridden, dreamed about and drawn horses, which has always been her favorite subject. Joanne majored in Art Education at the State University of New York at New Paltz. Raised in Port Washington, New York, she presently lives on the east end of Long Island.
Joanne has exhibited her pieces in renowned galleries across the North East. With great honor, Joanne had the opportunity to illustrate Mint’s Christmas Message, a story written by her sister Mary Yaiullo Spitz. A beautiful sermon by Mary’s father-in-law has been exquisitely crafted into a critically acclaimed children’s book, visualized through Joanne’s beautiful illustrations.
One of the greatest pleasures in Joanne’s life is to donate her time and talent for the promotion of horsemanship, equine rescue, and therapeutic riding programs. For inquiries about commissions and opportunities to collaborate, please email mail@jypfineart.com.
