As a third generation horsewoman from the Radosevich family I have had the opportunity to work under some great horseman. Growing up in Ohio on our family farm i showed 4-H as a kid and learned to gallop racehorses by age thirteen. In 2008 I went on the road to work under trainer Steve Asmussen as an assistant. Working with horses like Curlin and Rachel Alexandra. In 2012 I worked as an assistant track photographer at Churchill Downs under Reed Palmer and earned the 2013 eclipse award for photography for my picture of Wise Dan in the Firecracker Handicap (gr. II) at Churchill Downs. I have found happiness raising my three kids Joshlyn (7), Benjamin (5) and Anabelle (2) with my husband, Brian Hernandez Jr on our farm in Simpsonville, Kentucky where we rehab and retrain racehorses. Great Wide Open aka Tom was our very first rehab horse at our farm. I fell in love with him and asked his connections to retire him to me when his career was over. We have had many ups and downs in his retraining after retirement but it has been such a rewarding journey for our partnership that I am most proud of. It’s really special to watch an OTTB shine off the track. Very excited to be representing the Churchill Down Racing Club and Churchill Downs Inc as they have made it possible for many new individuals to be apart of the industry. Happy to share this experience and showcase what OTTB’s can accomplish after racing.
