Kristin is a lifelong and accomplished equestrian. A native of Maryland, she grew up competing Hunter/Jumpers in Harford and Baltimore County. Upon graduating from Kennard Dale High School she embarked on a career in Thoroughbred racing, working at Bonita Farm in 2004, where she was mentored by classic winning trainer William Boniface. In 2009 she was employed by the late Tom Voss, as an exercise rider and timber jockey. Kristin earned the opportunity to ride in timber races for established trainers and owners including the prestigious Maryland Hunt Cup. Upon moving to Kentucky in 2012 Kristin began working with her husband, William VanMeter as a galloping assistant. With Kristin’s leadership, she and Will developed a professional stable competing in the Mid-West racing circuit. Kristin’s hobby away from the racetrack is fox hunting with the Iroquios Hunt Club and Long Run Woodford Hounds in Kentucky.
