Melissa has always had a love and passion for horses and riding. Growing up she would clean stalls at the local barn in exchange for horse time, in and out of the saddle. Throughout school Melissa participated in a local 4H chapter in Cincinnati, and showed a 23 year old off the track thoroughbred named Classic Robert who introduced her to the amazing breed! In 2020 Melissa purchased Spokesman “Brewer” as a 3 year old, and together have been learning the ropes of eventing. Most recently finishing in 5th place in the Open Beginner Novice division at IEA in June as their first event together. Brewer is affectionately referred to a giant dog, with a heart of gold, and the sweetest personality, the sky is the limit for him! We are so excited to ride in the Real Rider Cup along with the rest of Team Have At It, a fun eventing group led by rider/trainer Megan Edwards. We all compete our off the track thoroughbreds at dressage, show jumping and cross-country events in Kentucky and beyond and love to brag about the breed and their versatility, heart, and athleticism. Excited to be a part of this great event and even better cause.
