Bio
With a lifelong passion for horses, Nikki Bernstein brings a diverse background in equine sports and Thoroughbred care to her role as Farm and Event Marketing Manager for the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation. She grew up riding her Arabian gelding, exploring trail riding, jumping, and polo—a discipline she continued at the collegiate level as a member of the University of Louisville Polo Team. Her professional riding career began in college, galloping racehorses on local farms before transitioning to the racetrack. She has exercised for some of the industry’s most respected trainers, including Shug McGaughey, Kenny McPeek, Johnathan Sheppard, and Bill Mott, and currently rides for Lacy Pierce at Trackside in Louisville, Kentucky. In her current role with the TRF, she manages two farms in Prospect, KY, home to 35 retired racehorses, where she blends her horsemanship with event coordination and community engagement to support the organization’s mission of lifelong Thoroughbred aftercare.
