Bio
I’ve been in professional hunt service for twenty one years. I'm currently in my seventh season as huntsman for the Long Run Woodford Hounds. I’m originally from Culpeper, Virginia and before I found foxhunting I graduated from the Tuscan School of Horseshoeing. I’m a United States Marine Corps veteran. I got my first thoroughbred from the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation. His name was Appalonian. He served two seasons as a staff horse with Piedmont, then was given to my dad as a gift where he did fifteen more as a field masters horse with Bull Run Hunt. When I was at Piedmont, I rode exclusively ex timber horses right off of the point to point circuit, often the same week! I tried my own hand at point to point racing and entered Warrenton, Piedmont, and Old Dominion on a veteran steeplechaser named Hot Spur. He was owned by Greg Ryan and trained by Julie Gomena. At Live Oak hounds I had a string of seven horses, all but one being an off the track race horse. Now in Kentucky, I ride almost entirely Thoroughbreds. When not on one of my favorite thoroughbreds, I can be found riding the back roads on my Harley or hanging out with my Jack Russell Terriers.
