Kaymarie Kreidel

Kaymarie got her first pony at the age of 7 years old. From then on, she grew up riding hunter/jumpers and event horses. She continued her competitive showing career up until the age of 17, when she sold her show horse. Looking to fill a void, Kaymarie pulled into the next farm she came across and offered her services as a rider. And the rest they say is history.

It was clear that she was destined to have a career with racehorses. After several years as an exercise rider, Kaymarie first took out her jockey’s license for the legendary Bonifaces of Maryland-based Bonita Farm. Throughout her career, Kaymarie racked up over 2,500 starts, 190 wins, 256 seconds and 276 thirds earning over $3,041,689 as a multiple-stakes winning jockey.

While she officially retired from race riding in 2006, you can still find her as one of the full time outriders for the Maryland Jockey Club. She made headlines at this year’s Preakness Stakes at Pimlico with her stellar catch of Bodexpress, the colt who unseated jockey John Velazquez as the gates opened. Kaymarie was honored very recently with the 2019 Touch of Class Award by the Maryland Horse Industry Board.

She will be making her second Real Rider Cup appearance, teaming up again with Trey Bear, her mount in the 2017 inaugural event. This year, however, they’ll be competing as part of Team Freestyle with Kaymarie riding sidesaddle! Sponsored by The Maryland Horse Industry Board, she’ll be wearing the Maryland flag silks of owner Kiplin Hall.
