Natalie Hendriks is the daughter of champion steeplechase trainers Sanna Neilson and Ricky Hendriks. Natalie started riding at the young age of 2 on small ponies and has now graduated to riding Thoroughbreds belonging to her mother. She enjoys hunting with the Cheshire Hunt and riding out for her mother, and also has experience in the show ring, winning many jumper classes.
Natalie is an 8th grade student at Westtown School. While not riding, she enjoys playing lacrosse, tennis and skiing.
Natalie will be riding Kings Apollo, owned by her uncle Stewart Strawbridge. Apollo is a winner of two timber races in the US, was second in the New Jersey Hunt Cup and is now retired to the hunt field. She will be wearing the silks of her Grandfather, the late Louis “Paddy” Neilson III, who passed away on September 5.
