Alexa Reisfield

Alexa Reisfield went on her first pony ride at age 5 and has been in the saddle ever since.  She has a background in hunter/jumpers and has been competitively showing in the hunter divisions since she was on ponies. During college, she was working at Colonial Downs in Virginia as a veterinary assistant when she was given the opportunity to learn how to gallop racehorses. As most experiences in the horse industry go, this snowballed into a full blown exercise riding career. Alexa got the opportunity to work for some of the finest farms and trainers in the industry including Stonestreet Stables, Leah Gyarmati and Nick Zito. Eventually some injuries caught up with her, and she took a job as an advertising assistant with the Thoroughbred Daily News. She is a big fan of the OTTBs and hopes hers will be ready to compete in future Real Rider Cups!

Sponsored by Stonestreet Stables, Alexa will be riding Forrest Kelly’s Manchurian High, winner of 11 races and $516,943.
