Mackenzie grew up in northern Baltimore County, where pastoral landscapes are often enjoyed from the back of a horse. In the show ring, she had the pleasure of riding various types of horses but always kept an OTTB of her own to develop. During her transition to college, Mackenzie began riding steeplechase horses and was quickly immersed in the racing industry. She has become a regular member of the veterinary team at Maryland's steeplechase races with Dr. Rachel Blakey and volunteers with the Equine Rescue Ambulance. Whether she is organizing Green Spring Valley Hounds Pony Camp, going to the races, foxhunting, playing polo, or helping foal watch…Thoroughbreds have proven a constant variable in all aspects of her spare time. Mackenzie is excited to fundraise through the RRC and hopes this will create opportunities for others to enjoy such a versatile breed.
