The Fair Hill leg of the Real Rider Cup joins the Maryland 5 Star!
The Real Rider Cup organizing committee is thrilled to have been invited to join the schedule of events at the Mars Maryland 5 Star at Fair Hill! The competition will take place on the afternoon of Saturday, October 18th following the conclusion of cross country in arena C (outlined in yellow on the map below).
At minimum, Saturday general admission to the 5 Star will be required for spectators. Access to watch the Real Rider Cup is included in all ticket types. Learn more about the Mars Maryland 5 Star here.
Riding at the Fair Hill Leg of the Real Rider Cup
Since RRC MD is happening within a much larger event, there are naturally lots of logistical questions. Here’s what we know so far and we will continue to provide updates as we move closer to the event date:
- Horse Health Documentation: ALL horses setting foot on competition grounds, regardless of where their home farm is located, must have proof of EHV-1 vaccination within the prior six months, a health certificate drawn up within the prior 30 days, and proof of negative coggins.
- Tickets for Riders: We will be providing admission to each rider and a +1 (groom, parent, etc.) Otherwise, all spectators will need to purchase general admission for Saturday at minimum. Access to watch RRC is included in all ticket types.
- Stabling: Stabling is available and riders may elect to reserve a stall or ship in and work off their trailer. Stall reservations MUST be sent directly to Rick Dunkerton [email protected] by October 1.
- RRC Venue: RRC will take place in arena C, which is outlined in yellow on the map below, not the primary stadium. Arena C will be split such that horses will warm up in the same space that they will compete in.
- Day-Of Schedule:
- 12:30 to 2 PM: Rider check-in
- 4 to 4:30 PM: In-hand arena familiarization
- 4:30 PM: Course walk
- 5 PM First horse on course, awards immediately to follow last horse
